The historic Olympia Armory was built in 1938 with a design by architect Joseph Wohleb. In addition to serving the Washington National Guard since the late 1930s, the Armory was a venue for social gatherings, sports events, and fundraisers. This photo portrays Governor Langlie, his wife, and other dignitaries, at the 1941 Inaugural Ball.The building is now owned by the City of Olympia and is being converted to a Creative Commons.
