Looking Back’s theme for 2024 is Many Streams, celebrating our rich and diverse history. Three Bettman brothers, Louis, Moses, and Sig, were members of the first Jewish family to settle in Olympia in 1853. They operated a store at the foot of Main Street (Capitol Way). Pictured here is Louis’s son William Bettman, who took over the business.
