In 1969, the second annual Sky River Rock Festival took place in Tenino over Labor Day weekend. (The first Sky River was in Snohomish County.) Held over the objections of local residents, the festival lineup included James CottonCountry Joe and the FishFlying Burrito BrothersBuddy GuyDan Hicks and His Hot Licks, among others.
