Looking Back’s theme for 2026 is Downtown by the Decades. In May 1984, the City of Olympia was honored to host the time trials for the first Women’s Olympic Marathon. The race began and ended on Evergreen Park Drive, above the future site of Marathon Park, named in honor of the event, and passed through downtown, witnessed by huge crowds.
