Looking Back’s theme for 2025 featured Thurston County area photographers, artists, and their subjects. Joseph McKnight arrived in Olympia in 1913 and operated the McKnight Studio until his retirement in 1946. Among his photographs is a series documenting the construction of the Legislative Building, shown here in 1926 with its dome partly completed.
