Susan Parish Collection, Southwest Regional Archives, 1940 photograph by Vibert Jeffers AR20090812-ph007613
John Percival was the second son of pioneer Samuel Wing Percival. In 1877, Samuel entrusted to John the important job of running the family’s dock business when John was only 16. In this photograph from 1940, John Percival stands in front of his shipping office, now the location of Percival Landing. He died in 1942, aged 81, after a sixty-five year career.
