This year’s event highlights historic homes of the Bigelow neighborhood that represent outstanding examples of late 19th and early 20th century residential architecture, and each is an example of important eras in the city’s history. Three of the homes are within the Olympia Avenue Historic District that is listed in the Olympia Heritage Register.
All homes are clustered within walking distance, allowing for an enjoyable winter tour of the homes. You can walk to the homes, tour the interior, and see aspects of homes you may have driven by in the past and wondered what they are like on the inside. Docents will be available at each of the properties to offer details and insights into these historic homes, and present details of their history.
In addition, the tour includes the Woman’s Club of Olympia (1002 Washington Street SE), including refreshments and a display of artifacts from Dwight Moody.
